Onkyo’s iOnly Compact Series ready to make waves
Press Release dated: 1 Sep 2011Industry leading hi-fi and home cinema specialist Onkyo announces the release of its exciting iOnly series of compact music systems designed for the iPod and iPhone.
The iOnly series - comprising the Play, Bass and Stream models - was conceived as a way to offer users a greater level of audio performance, convenience and practicality in a portable and affordable package. As well as power, premium build quality, and unique styling, iOnly models are designed to look great, whatever the room aesthetic.
With digital music very much a part of everyday life, an iOnly audio system allows the user to enjoy their portable music collection in rich, room-filling stereo.
iOnly Play (ABX-100)
Topped with a sliding brushed aluminium dock cover and supported by a solid aluminium pedestal the iOnly Play is a genuinely unique and distinctive looking iPhone/iPod dock. Activate it and the three-mode underside illumination makes it look all the more distinctive.

Designed to be compatible with a wide range of iPod/iPhone models the Play offers proper tone controls as well as an Active Bass function that makes automatic real-time adjustments to low bass frequencies when listening at low volume levels.
Twin 6cm, full-range bass reflex speakers deliver an uncommonly communicative sound quality, in concert with an Onkyo-engineered power amplifier. There's a 3.5mm aux in socket for other components and the programmable timers and snooze/sleep functions make it a perfect bedside partner.

iOnly Bass (SBX-200)
The name rather gives it away. The iOnly Bass is a iPad/iPod/iPhone dock that majors on sound quality, equipped as it is with 10.5cm woofers and incorporating bass management techniques derived from Onkyo's home cinema products.
Weighing in at 3.5kg and topped with a solid aluminium handle this speaker system's connectivity options gives it excellent flexibility. Apple portable product owners, for instance, can listen to their content via a Direct Digital connection, for top sound quality. A wide dust-proof slide-out dock – with a flexible connector – allows everything up to an iPad to be securely located. And there's a free iPhone/iPad App that allows users to access the iOnly Bass's Clock/Sleep/Alarm/Play Music functionality.
But that's not the only way to connect. Built-in Bluetooth allows users to wirelessly stream audio from their portable device after a one-step set-up while a 3.5mm auxiliary input allows a virtually unlimited range of devices to be connected.
With 2 x 20w of Class D power on tap this system doesn't hold back when it comes to delivering the sonic goods. Focussed on its primary purpose the iOnly Bass knows its job… and does it supremely well!
